Mourinho has been out of work since January when he and Roma parted ways after a series of poor results.

The former Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid manager is now set to land the tenth job of his career and take the reins in Turkey for the first time.

Speaking in a video posted by Fenerbahce from the Champions League final at Wembley, Mourinho said: “Merhaba Fenerbahce fans.

“See you tomorrow at Kadikoy and let’s start our journey together.”

The Yellow Canaries captioned the post: “We will meet at our stadium on Sunday, June 2nd at 19.00!”

Mourinho spent Saturday night working on TNT Sports coverage as Real Madrid beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0.

He had refused to confirm his next job when pressed by journalists. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “Not yet, not yet.

“I decided I want to go but it’s not done yet, I cannot confirm officially. But yes, I want to go.”

Fenerbahce could play in the Champions League next season but first have to play in the qualifying phase, entering in the second round.

Victory will take them into the third qualifying round before a play-off round that will decide if they reach the competition or not.

“Hard,” he added when asked about their prospects. “Because we have three rounds to go in qualification and in Fenerbahce’s case, eight players are in the Euros and they’re not coming for pre-season before the first round.

“So hard, but if I go, you know that I like challenges. So if I go, I’m going to fight to be in the Champions League.”

Mourinho did, however, drop a huge hint over his future when speaking to TNT Sports.

Rio Ferdinand asked him who the most famous person in his phone contacts is and with a smirk, the Portuguese legend replied: “This moment, it’s the president of Fenerbahce.”

And when pressed on the appointment by Laura Woods, he said: “Maybe I travel tomorrow.”

Mourinho is still regarded as one of the best managers in world football given his immense success across European football.

He has won league titles at Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Madrid, as well as the Champions League at the latter two clubs.

The 61-year-old’s next challenge will now come at Fenerbahce, who finished second behind Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig.
