Must read

A Britain’s Got Talent act made a huge TV blunder during Friday’s live semi final as he revealed a huge secret about Alesha Dixon, leaving her embarrassed.

Magician Trixy pulled out his best bag of tricks for the fifth live show this week as he tried to secure himself a place in the final on Sunday.

During his jaw-dropping performance, which involved using Amanda Holden‘s mobile phone, he asked Bruno Tonioli what time he woke up and popped the number into the calculator.

He then went to Alesha for her specific number – how many people she thought were sat in the Hammersmith Apollo theatre.

But when he asked the judge how she was feeling that evening, he let slip that Alesha had pre-recorded her musical performance for the show.

He said to the judge: ‘Alesha, lovely performance by the way.’

Alesha awkwardly giggled under her breath before thanking him.

The songstress later took to the stage to perform her new track, Ransom in a pre-recorded segment for the show.

Trixy’s comment didn’t go unnoticed as fans were quick to point out the error on X, formerly known as Twitter.

One penned: ‘The magician giving away that Alesha has pre-recorded her performance #BGT #BritainsGotTalent.’

‘Did we miss Alesha’s performance? #BGT #BritainsGotTalent.’…’Magician just revealed Alesha’s performance later is a pre-rec’… ‘So Alesha ain’t performing live then.’

When Alesha performed her hit mash up on stage, the ‘live’ notification box from the show’s stream had disappeared from ITV viewer’s screens.

But when he asked how the judge how she was feeling that evening, he seemingly let slip that Alesha had pre-recorded her exclusive performance for tonight

Alesha performed as part of a stellar line-up of acts for the semi-finals, which has included the cast of Frozen the musical as well as the cast of The Lion King and brand new musical & Juliet.

She made her long-awaited return to music with the release of single Ransom and an accompanying music video.

Her single samples Jamaican reggae artist Ini Kamoze’s track Here Comes The Hotstepper, and comes nine years after the release of her last album.

Produced by Supa Dups, the music video was shot in cities Port Antonio and Kingston in Jamaica, where Alesha’s father Melvin hails from.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge said: ‘I wanted a sample that was super familiar. Known and loved by all races, I wanted to fuse my commercial persona with my roots, the music I grew up on and still love that is such a big part of who I am.

‘Being in Jamaica feels like home and it has both a spiritual calm as well as a bass line thumping around every corner!’

Alesha is no longer signed to a music label and spoke about the difficulties that brings.

She told The Sun: ‘It’s expensive putting out music. I’m an independent artist so it’s a lot, energetically, for me to put myself back out there. At this point in my life and career, it’s just about what makes me feel good.’
