Eight British ‘stag do’ male tourists have been arrested following a mass fight at a Majorca restaurant.
The violent incident occurred at around 7.30pm yesterday at the Balneario Illetas beach club restaurant in Calvia, the municipality where party resort Magaluf is located.
Town hall chiefs said a waiter had been injured after being hit in the head and two police officers were also hurt.
They said they would be taking a tough stance against people who ‘put the security of the municipality at risk’.
A council spokesman urged ‘tourists like these’ to go somewhere else.
Commenting on yesterday evening’s events, Calvia Council said: ‘A mass fight at the Balneario Illetas restaurant on Wednesday has led to the arrest of eight English men aged around 30.’
‘A waiter was injured after being hit in the head and two police officers were also hurt and are awaiting a medical evaluation.’
The British tourists were said to have been on a stag do holiday and were staying at a hotel in the area.
The men reportedly began to throw rubbish and cans of lager into the sea, which annoyed other customers and sunbathers on the beach.
‘The response of the group, who appeared to have drunk excessively, was extremely violent.’
‘They attacked staff and confronted the police.’
The council also said that seven restaurant customers and sunbathers have already pressed charges against the violent British tourists.
The brawl comes just days after 15,000 Majorcans took to the street to protest against tourists, and the disruption they bring to the local area.

Calvia’s deputy mayor Esperanza Catala said this morning: ‘Let no-one be mistaken, we are going to be inflexible with this sort of people that we don’t want in Calvia and we are not going to let them get away with anything.’
‘We are not going to allow anyone to come here that puts the security of our municipality at risk and damages our image.’
‘They need to take note and go somewhere else if they don’t know how to behave,’ she added.
The brawl in Majorca comes in the midst of ongoing anti-tourism protests on the island, as locals attempt to clamp down on disruptions caused by holidaymakers.
On Saturday, around 15,000 people took to the streets of Palma to show their unhappiness towards tourism. Locals were seen holding placards with slogans reading ‘tourists go home’ and some even heckled foreign holidaymakers whilst they enjoyed their evening meals.
