Growth Hub team members are dusting off their trainers and pumping up their bike tyres ready to take part in the Sustrans Cornwall Active Travel Challenge.
Sustrans is inviting people across the county to take part in its challenge from June 1 – 30. It is encouraging commuters to try and change their travel habits by leaving the car at home and finding alternative ways such as cycling or walking.
Members of the Growth Hub are also keen to see other businesses and employees taking part as it not only helps improve your wellbeing, but also the planet.
Those who sign up to the challenge will be in with the chance of winning some top prizes every time they log a journey online. These include a Fitbit activity tracker, vouchers and an adventure books pack.
Emma Deans, active travel officer for Cornwall Sustrans South, said: “Well done to the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Growth Hub for signing up to the active travel challenge for another year! We are looking forward to seeing how you make changes in your everyday journeys and the positive impact it has on the planet and your wellbeing.”
Kirsty Miles-Musgrave, Growth Hub operations manager, is a keen sea swimmer and has signed up to the challenge.
She said: “The Growth hub is here to help your business develop and grow following our Good Growth Principles for improving the economy, community and sustainability.
“Businesses interested in improving the well-being of their staff should get in touch to find out more about the free business support or sign up to our upcoming one-off events.”
The next workshop for healthier and more inclusive workplaces is Accrediting ‘Good Work’ in Cornwall in Penryn on June 26. Plus, coming later in the year, you can support reasonable adjustments for disabled colleagues, Improving movement and reducing sedentary behaviour at work, and Psychological Safety in the workplace.
