Love Island will make a much-anticipated return to TV screens on Monday June 3, as the popular show returns for a new series.

Since first being broadcast in 2015, Love Island has proved to be a hit with viewers year upon year.

While the show has continued to entertain watchers on a consistent basis, the famed Casa Amor villa, where the contestants reside during filming, has undergone a number of changes down the years.

Ahead of the new season of Love Island, here is a look at the different villas that have been used since the show’s first series in 2015.

Santanyi

According to The Sun, the five-bedroom villa, which was used on the first two series of the show, was snapped up by a mystery buyer in March 2022.

A source told the publication at the time: ‘It was taken off the market about two weeks ago. It sold for near its asking price.’

Along with the five bedrooms, the house also boasts five bathrooms, a balcony terrace, underfloor heating and a whirlpool in the garden.

A description of the property reads: ‘Enter the ground floor to find an open living area, light and airy, promising superb views of the striking outdoor pool.

‘Vast sliding glass doors can be completely slotted away to open up the space, creating a sense of boundless freedom.

‘The four bedrooms on this level (each with an en-suite bathroom) face the garden.’

After complaints from the House of Lords over contestants smoking on the first two editions of the show, a designated small smoking area was introduced.

During a debate in 2017, Lord Storey, who represents the Liberal Democrats, said: ‘If you were to look at the ITV website it describes Love Island as an ’emotional feast of love and passion in the sun.”

He continued: ‘On this programme those contestants are seen regularly smoking. What message does that say to young people?’

Numerous complaints in 2017 saw smoking subsequently confined to one small area in the villa.

The cast also have access to an outdoor kitchen, which sits between the fire pit and pool.

Fans of the show can even book their very own stay at the villa – but it will not come in cheap.

The new Love Island villa for 2024 has been revealed – with producers hoping that revamped rules for the Hideaway will make this upcoming series the sexiest yet.

MailOnline exclusively revealed the private quarters, which are complete with a hot tub and swing and can be accessed by the Islanders at any time instead of being locked, with a new ‘No Invite Needed’ order.

There will be no distractions for stars looking to get intimate under the covers, as bosses have scrapped the kinky cupboard full of body chocolate and sexy lingerie, to eliminate contestants falling into old habits of past Islanders.

When they’re not fighting over the Hideaway, the only area in the villa they can be totally alone with their partner, this year’s cast will be basking in the Spanish sunshine on the brand-new outdoor day beds, which are inspired by the sun-drenched city of Miami.

The girls have been treated to a new pamper suite which is stocked full of designer beauty products and located on the ground floor of the villa.

This move has been made by producers in the hope that it will give Islanders even more time to gossip about who is their type on paper.

One of the most notable decorative changes in the villa is the colour scheme of the kitchen, which has been repainted in a sky blue colour and comes equipped with everything the Islanders need to prepare breakfast for their partners.

There has also been a slight change made to the bedrooms, with the absence of cupboards giving contestants more space than in previous years.
