Britain’s Got Talent viewers fume ‘what am I watching’ as act sparks backlash

Must read

As the first semi-final of Britain’s Got Talent aired on Monday night on ITV1, viewers fumed at contestant Bikoon who guided somebody in a bag around the stage.

The person in the bag was later revealed to be a little boy, and it seemed like the judges weren’t happy either as Bruno Tonioli, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden all pressed their buzzer for it to stop.

Viewers flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their unhappy reactions as one person fumed: “That was five minutes of my life I can never get back now. #BGT.”

Another person wrote: “#BGT How on earth did this Bakooni rubbish get through! Are they paying that audience to cheer.”

Somebody else expressed: “Really really this made it to semi finals and is on first live show omg. magic bag get back in the bin!!!!!! #BGT.” (sic)

Yet another said: “What am I watching? Somethings gone wrong with the The Krankies that’s for sure #BGT.”

A fifth slammed: “This bag act is the worst act ever to reach the semi finals a complete load of rubbish which has deprived other better talent getting through #BGT.”

While a sixth ITV viewer added: “I never want to see them again.#bgt.”

However, not everybody felt the same way as one fan said: “I could have watched that guy in the bag try to jump through that hoop all night. all 5 votes going to bikoon later #bgt.”

Elsewhere in the show, Simon Cowell congratulated host Ant McPartlin on becoming a dad for the first time.

One half of the Geordie duo became a dad when his wife Anne-Marie Corbett gave birth to their little boy.

Simon, 64, expressed: “By the way, can I just say congratulations to you Ant,” before the audience erupted into a huge applause for the new dad.

Britain’s Got Talent semi finals continue all this week at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
