Bodies of two fishermen swept off rocks at Kurnell in Sydney have been recovered following search

Two men have died after they were reportedly washed off rocks in Sydney‘s Sutherland Shire.

NSW Police were called to Cape Solander Dr, Kurnell, following reports two people had been washed into the ocean at 2.45pm on Monday.

It is understood the men were rock fishing.

A search operation was launched with the assistance of Marine Area Command, Surf Life Savers and Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

NSW Police confirmed the two men were pulled from the water a short time later.

Officers performed CPR until NSW Ambulance paramedics took over.

A report will be prepared for the coroner

Unfortunately both men were unable to be revived.

The two fishermen are yet to be formally identified.

Police will prepare a report for the information of the coroner.
