Must read

As we delve the latest trends and must-have pieces from esteemed brands… Unveiling their newest collections and collaborations for this season.

LANVIN

LANVIN has begun a new chapter by partnering up with contemporary artist Erwin Wurm for the second edition of LANVIN Lab. Unlike the first one, this multidisciplinary collaboration will bring forward LANVIN’s iconic creations – the Pencil Cat bag and the Cash sneaker – as sculptural works. Titled Desire, the figure features the bag as the body while the sneaker will be at the base, all covered in blue. Desire will debut in public places, starting with Beijing and followed by several cities across China.

Fauré Le Page

Fauré Le Page’s motto, “Armed for Seduction,” inspires the maison’s latest creation dubbed Ladies First, which notably employs masculine bag shapes to arm contemporary women. The Ladies First 24, in particular, presents a combination of strength and femininity exemplified by its flap closure that takes the silhouette of a military officer’s cartridge pouch. The Brandenburg shoulder pad, meanwhile, celebrates the workmanship of the brand’s craftspeople. The bag is available in Saga, FLPosh, and Spark jacquard in blue, pink, sand, or black.

LOEWE

Summer is synonymous with the comfortable aesthetics of island life, and so the wardrobes for the season have always been filled with a vibrant energy and playful spirit. LOEWE’s Paula’s Ibiza collection revels in these ideas as it brings forward pieces in alluring prints. These include scarves, dresses, and shirts that can be paired accordingly. LOEWE’s signature basketry also comes with new woven raffia designs alongside espadrilles and foam slides.

Dior

A recent creation of Maria Grazia Chiuri, the Dior backpack was unveiled during the maison’s spring/summer 2024 runway show. For this particular model, the Maxicannage topstitching adorns the black supple calfskin. Meanwhile, a gold CD signature is added as another focal point. Emphasising its identity as a bag that fuses elegance and functionality, Dior equipped the backpack with a removable top handle, allowing it to be carried in multiple ways, across styles and personalities.

Givenchy

Amid this season’s obsession with denim, Givenchy’s Shark Lock line stands out among the crowd, especially this ankle boot. Its choice of fabric is nothing short of enchanting, while its construction boasts zippers, hoops, pockets, a pleated effect, and a Givenchy metal bar for an edgy look. The shoe has a thick graphic rubber sole, heightened with the Givenchy logo on the back of the heel. Pair it with another denim piece to create an unexpected Canadian tux style.

Prada

The iconic Prada Galleria bag’s legacy continues with new seasonal styles. One exemplary design worth keeping is the model featuring floral appliqué on its front side. Assembled by hand, the bag consists of around 80 separate pieces, and highlights its signature three-compartment style to reveal its multifaceted nature. The bag comes in various colours, from black with geranium to tan with orange flowers.

Tory Burch

“Effortless” is the main keyword informing Tory Burch’s spring/summer 2024 collection. To her, clothing should be mind-free, as reflected in modular tailoring, feather-weight materials, and dynamic clothing that build structure and volume without bulk. As companions to the ready-to-wear pieces, Tory Burch also highlights a vast array of pastel-coloured handbags and shoes to instil a sense of urban living.

Yuzefi

London-based brand Yuzefi, known for its experimental designs, has unveiled a new bag called the Fortune Cookie. As the name suggests, the bag resembles the cookie associated with Chinese-American restaurants with its half-rounded silhouette. The bag features smooth leather, two fringe details on the side and a zip closure. It is also generously sized for daily wear. Additionally, its adjustable strap allows the bag to be worn on the shoulder or carried in the hand. Yuzefi is available at MASARI and MASARISHOP.com.

Casablanca

Casablanca has slowly but surely moved upwards in the fashion world, thanks in no small part to its unique approach that combines luxury, leisurewear, and culture in one package. For the spring/summer 2024 season, the brand finds inspiration in Nigeria while introducing elements from tennis into various vibrant pieces. One of the key pieces birthed from this idea are the Day of Victory linen shirt and shorts. These unisex pieces boast a casual summery look, which is further complemented with a Cuban collar, vivid colours, and comfortable linen. Available at Jade.

Jacquemus

Jacquemus presents Le Mariage, a collection that re-envisions summer weddings through the lens of Simon Porte Jacquemus. One specific piece that instantly catches the eye is, undoubtedly, the Les Doubles sandal. The overlaid design displays two-tone leather, camouflaging two heels with one strap. To ensure beauty in all aspects, Jacquemus has selected sheepskin and calfskin for the shoe and sole respectively.

Under Armour

Under Armour’s UA Infinite Elite and UA Infinite Pro have gotten a massive update. They are now equipped with UA HOVR cushioning, which is renowned for its springy feeling that powers runners yearn for during long runs. Thanks to this cushioning, both the UA Infinite Elite and UA Infinite Pro now feel lighter, softer, and more responsive. Furthermore, Under Armour delivers ultra-plush comfort that is not only found underfoot but also in other components such as the collar, tongue foam, laces, and sock-liner – all for one purpose: comfort and stable long-distance performance.

Kenzo

The Colors collection, created by Kenzo in collaboration with Verdy, is indeed a noteworthy example of how colour is the key to vibrant fashion. Drawing inspiration from the colour-block trend, Colors consists of a range of ready-to-wear apparel, accessories, and footwear infused with vivid lemon yellow, poppy red, and deep-sea blue. Kenzo’s much-loved sneakers, the Kenzo-Pace, has also returned, this time appearing in a tonal shade that goes really well with the rest of the collection.

RIMOWA

RIMOWA has introduced Hammerschlag, a limited-edition collection honouring the brand’s heritage values. Crafted in Germany with modern enhancements, the collection echoes a 1966 design with Cognac-hued handles and archival-inspired interior, particularly for the Cabin and Hand-Carry Case. What really sets this collection apart is the ability of the surface to capture and reflect light, showcasing the opulent characteristics that the brand is known for over a century of its existence.
