ng homes is a leading community based Housing Association that provides housing and support services to almost 7,000 tenants and owners within North Glasgow. Our customers are at the heart of our business and we strive to deliver customer service excellence in all that we do. 

The Association is now looking to recruit a health and safety professional to join the senior management team. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the postholder will be responsible for managing health, safety and wellbeing across the ng group. This role requires a strong team player who will work closely with colleagues to develop best practice policies and procedures and plan and deliver all health and safety related works and activities. This includes overseeing the successful delivery of all landlord duties in relation to tenant and resident health and safety together with a focus on staff safety and wellbeing.

The Health and Safety Manager will play a pivotal role in creating and embedding a positive culture of compliance across the business. The successful candidate will support the Association’s Board, CEO and senior management team with guidance and advice and will take a proactive approach to ensuring that all statutory, regulatory and legislative requirements are achieved across the Association’s homes and corporate activities.

Candidates will possess a relevant qualification and will have an appropriate level of relevant experience in a similar health and safety role together with up-to-date knowledge of health and safety legislation and the work of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). The successful candidate will ideally be degree qualified and have a working knowledge of the Scottish housing sector and/or landlord health and safety duties and responsibilities and will ideally be a member of an appropriate professional body.

Analytical, organisational and time management skills are essential for this post together with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with external contractors, advisors and consultants and internal colleagues across all levels of the business.
