Spring Fashion Show raises £2k for Yorkshire Cancer Research – Huddersfield Hub

The Huddersfield Volunteer Group of Yorkshire Cancer Research has raised £2,145 after hosting a charity fashion show.

The sell-out show, held at The Woodman Inn, Thunderbridge, was enjoyed by 146 guests.

A fabulous range of fashions from renowned independent retailers, Almond Boutique, Kirkburton, Dare Boutique, Kirkburton, Hats by Elizabeth Gales, Kirkburton and The Old Post Office, Almondbury, was on show.

Two members of the Huddersfield Volunteer Group and two of the group’s supporters joined models from the boutiques on the catwalk.

Raffle prizes were kindly donated by local businesses including Beatties Deli and Coffee Shop, Clarity Hair and Beauty, Crouch Fitness, Dobbies Garden Centre, Frillies Boutique, Half-Inch Seam, Lydgate Styles, Richard Charles Hair Spa, The Woodman Inn and participating boutiques.

The event was supported by stalls from local businesses, including Hats by Elizabeth Gales, The Gluten Free Bake Box, Liv A Little (@livalittlestore) and craft group Burton Crafters.

Jane Dutton, chair of the Huddersfield Volunteer Group, said: “The event was an amazing success. A huge thank you to everyone who bought tickets, staff at The Woodman Inn, boutique staff and models and local businesses. The money raised will help to fund life-saving research to help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer in Yorkshire.”

This year, the Huddersfield Volunteer Group celebrate 60 years of fundraising. Since 1964 they have raised more than £1.5 million, with an additional £2.7 million raised from legacies left in the area, making a grand total of more that £4.3 million to help save lives in Yorkshire.
