Are you ready for a crisis? Government says stock up for three days

Households should ensure their cupboards have enough tinned food and bottled water to be self-sufficient for at least three days in order to be prepared for a national crisis.

That is the advice from a new government website being launched on Wednesday to help the nation become more resilient to emergencies.

Oliver Dowden, the deputy prime minister, will launch the Prepare Campaign at the London Defence Conference as part of a series of new measures that he hailed as the biggest transformation in Britain’s national resilience planning in decades.
