WWE King & Queen Of The Ring 2024: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

Must read

WrestleMania buzz still lingers, but any momentum the company is trying to sustain would come to a screeching halt if goofy became the go-to word coming out of King & Queen Of The Ring. The royal gimmick became a bad joke in WWE circles far too often in the past, and the last thing Triple H wants is to serve up another slice of creative hell on Saturday.

Right? Right?!

In the twisted alternative reality thrown up here, Trips trashes the place and writes a love letter to the worst ‘King’ and ‘Queen’ tropes of yesteryear. Do that, and he’ll be spitting on fans willing to invest in a serious spin on these tournaments. People really hope the winners go on to mean something more than crummy crowns and snooty gags.

Other nightmares include WWE going back on their own booking again, and cashing in on Cody Rhodes manager tease with a decision that’d gut any hopes for his match vs. Logan Paul. As if that isn’t enough, shock returns and unwanted title changes could spoil the party further.

This article is lighthearted but brought to you by 2012 Kane’s negativity. “Embrace the hate!”, and all that.

Sonya Deville is back and wanted to talk to Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark about something on Raw. The best bet here is that Sonya fancies managing the pair to Women’s Tag-Team Title glory, and will pitch that guidance once Shayna’s frost thaws. This is a fine enough side story for TV.

“For TV”.

It doesn’t need to play out on PLE at King & Queen Of The Ring. WWE don’t have to stick Shayna and Zoey in another match against one of the squads they’ve already thumped, then have Deville help them win so they finally agree to lend an ear and hear out her scheming. Please leave that for Monday’s Raw.

Generally, Triple H has become very good at streamlining his PLEs, so this probs won’t happen. It’d be such an unnecessary add-on if Baszler and Stark beat Maxxine Dupri and Ivy Nile though. Giving the story time to breathe in the background on telly sounds like a better plan than cramming it awkwardly onto the card over in Saudi.
