Davina McCall has shocked fans of the Masked Singer after she was unmasked as one of the hidden celebrity hopefuls in the Christmas special.
Host of the ITV hit show told viewers at the start of Thursday’s show that Davina would not be on the judging panel, instead replaced by Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders.
It comes as Davina announced she was having surgery to remove a rare benign tumour on her brain.
The presenter, 57, wowed the judges and audience with renditions of two festive tunes, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas and This Christmas.
She was then unveiled as The Star, much to the surprise of the panel.
Mo Gilligan and Jonathan Ross stood to applaud Davina, who has been a judge on six series of the show.
Jonathan, 64, said: “There is absolutely no way, we thought you couldn’t sing that well. I’m glad your OK, but to me you are now dead.”
Davina replied: “I thought you might get me with the DVD one. It has been a ball, thank you!”
Fans rejoiced as Davina was unveiled, with one saying: “OMG Davina as the star! Love her!”
Another said: “Davina can sing? Wow, get her on stage quick!”
