Stalker 2’s ‘first major patch’ is now live with over 1800 fixes | VGC

Must read

GSC Game World has released its first major patch for Stalker 2. The update makes thousands of fixes to the game that launched last month.

The patch, which is rolling out on PC and Xbox now, fixes hundreds of bugs, quest issues, and other problems with the game. A large number of fixes have also been made to A-Life, the system which controls the game’s AI.

In the base game, players complained that the A-Life system, which was meant to make the world of Stalker 2 feel more realistic, resulted in issues like dozens of enemies spawning directly in front of the player, as well as a lack of roaming NPCs. Both of these issues have been addressed in the patch.

“We understand that the size of the patch is huge and the process of downloading will take some time,” said GSC Game World.

“We would like to thank you for your understanding, and we will work on this aspect as well.”

The patch notes, which are over 3000 words in length and feature thousands of fixes, can be read here.

When the game was released last month, GSC Game World acknowledged Stalker 2‘s “rough edges” and pledged to make improvements to the newly released title.

Following a lengthy and highly challenging development cycle, which included the studio partially relocating from Kiev to the Czech Republic following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the post-apocalyptic shooter launched in November for Xbox Series X/S, PC and Game Pass.
