GB News has announced a number of changes, including a new presenter to replace Eamonn Holmes’ co-star Isabel Webster. Another presenter has also been axed from the channel

Isabel Webster is to be replaced on GB News

In a major shake-up at GB News, Eamonn Holmes‘ co-host Isabel Webster is set to be replaced by Ellie Costello, 31, who will take over the breakfast coverage during weekdays. Isabel, 41, has been a familiar face on the channel since 2022 after her previous stints with Sky News and the BBC.

The changes are slated for January, as GB News also revealed that Mark Dolan, 50, has been “relieved of his duties” without an immediate explanation. It comes after Eamonn shared a worrying health update with fans amid his divorce from Ruth Langsford.

A spokesperson for GB News confirmed to Mail Online: “Ellie Costello will now co-host GBN Breakfast five days a week, presenting alongside Eamonn Holmes on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and with Stephen Dixon on Thursday and Friday. Stephen and Anne Diamond will continue to co-present GB News Breakfast at Weekends.”

Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster, who have a close off-screen friendship from their time co-hosting Sky News’ breakfast show previously known as Sunrise, began their partnership at GB News in January 2022, following Eamonn’s departure from This Morning after 15 years.

Isabel took to social media to announce her last show with Eamonn for the time being, posting a photo with him and captioning it: “Over and out from us! Merry Christmas,” reports the Mirror.

Commenting on the role changes, GB News’ head of programming and talent, Ben Briscoe, stated: “2024 has been a truly fantastic year for us. Not only are we regularly beating the other established news channels, but we are also making inroads against the big public service broadcaster terrestrial channels. Our initiatives will allow us to build on this success with a renewed focus and ambition.”

Isabel had previously spoken to reporters about her support for Eamonn during his split from Ruth Langsford, saying: “I love Ruth and I love Eamonn and I’ve got nothing but love for them.

“I wish them all the very best – divorce is difficult for anyone. When you’re in the public eye, it’s got to be even more difficult. I’ve been in touch with Ruth but you’ll have to ask her about her divorce.”

Meanwhile, Mark began hosting his own shows, Mark Dolan Tonight and Mark Dolan Live, on GB News in 2021. Last year, he faced criticism for attempting to create an alternative to Match Of The Day, following Gary Lineker’s temporary departure from the BBC programme.
