DJ Fat Tony, known for his spirited spins and status as a 57 year old LGBTQ+ icon, is now nursing severe facial wounds after falling victim to a vicious assault that has since galvanised fans and friends, with television titan Davina McCall amongst those rallying in support.

The well-loved entertainer, whose real name is Tony Marnach, took to social media lamenting the forced cancellation of forthcoming shows due to the chilling incident.

The attack left him unconscious and necessitated an urgent dash to the A&E where he spent the entirety of Friday night.

Following the brutal incident, Tony turned to Instagram to update his devoted followers and announce the postponement of his hotly-anticipated Christmas performance. The flurry of heartfelt sympathies from followers and famous faces soon cascaded in, signalling the strength of the DJ’s fanbase.

The authorities have been alerted and are investigating the matter.

In an outpouring of concern, TV star Davina McCall disclosed her intent to reach out personally, messaging: “F***. Tony this is terrible … Love you so much x call you tomorrow.”, reports the Mirror.

Pop sensation Ellie Goulding expressed her fury and offered retaliatory solidarity: “Will find him and punch him back for you,” while The Vivienne of RuPaul’s Drag Race fame extended thoughts of recovery: “OMG hope you’re OK.”

Tony recounted the harrowing ordeal just the day before, speaking candidly to his over 400k followers: “I can’t really go into details but I was attacked last night at a gig, in the DJ box by another DJ funnily enough.

“It resulted in me being knocked out and taken to hospital and being in AandE all night. Obviously you can see the damage to my face and the swelling – it’s not good. I wanted to let you know I can’t be at my gigs today as I have been advised to stay at home and get well.”

He expressed his sadness about the cancellation, stating: “I’m absolutely gutted, I’m gutted this happened, I’m gutted that people choose violence especially when what we do comes from a place of love. I’m really sorry that I won’t be seeing you tonight but we will reschedule everything. Big love guys – I’m just gutted really gutted.”

Tony followed up the message by writing: “LOVE ALWAYS WINS X I am devastated to announce that due to unforeseen circumstances I have no choice but to cancel tonight’s event at @number90bar @no90_events. I’m under doctors orders I need to rest and get better. I will be ok and I’m on the mend – but for now I need to take the doctors’ advice.”

Tony, who got engaged to his fiance Stavros last year, apologised to fans for the short notice and late cancellation. “I know some of you have had this night out in your diaries for a long time and this is last minute – I really am so sorry. I will make it up to you all in the new year. Happy Christmas everyone, take care of yourselves. We will be rescheduling tonight’s event to January 25th. I can’t wait to see you all there and party together.”

He posted a heartfelt message the following morning, expressing gratitude to his fans for their support and to Stavros for taking care of him.

“Thank you for the thousands of messages of love and support I’m ok just in a lot of pain and and swollen but at home with @stavrosagapiou and the dogs being looked after I can’t thank you all enough for the outpouring of support remember you can’t keep a good man down x.”

In the video, he expressed gratitude to his supporters, saying: “Just doing a quick face update, as you can see the swelling is coming down, I’m okay though.

“I wanted to say a huge thank you for all the messages I have received – I’m overwhelmed.”
