Ruth Langsford has taken to social media to say that her beloved mum Joan is in hospital after a nasty fall.

The Loose Women panellist revealed that Joan had fractured her pelvis and is in hospital recovering, but their Christmas plans have been thrown into chaos.

Ruth has spoken previously about the struggles with her mum’s dementia and added in her post that this isn’t Joan’s first fall, as last year she broke her hop but recovered well.

The ex-This Morning presenter posted a clip of Joan dancing around her kitchen peeling spuds and wrote: “No dancing in my kitchen peeling the veg for my darling Mum this Christmas…

“She’s had a fall and fractured her pelvis! She’s ok…ish, no surgery required thank goodness but she needs rest and time to heal now.

“She’s in hospital at the moment but I’m hoping to get her home soon.”

The TV star often posts updates about her mum on social media as they spend most weekends together preparing dinners.

On the Instagram post, she added: “Put’s life and what’s important into perspective eh? Happy Christmas!”

This comes as Eammon Holmes, Ruth’s estranged husband, told friends that he wants to marry his new girlfriend Katie Alexander. The couple were spotted in Paris this week with her wearing a nice rock on her engagement finger.

Thankfully, the Loose Women star’s pals gave rallied around her, posting messages of support on the post.

Chef Juliet Sear said: “Bless her sending all the love and healing vibes.”

Lizzie Cundy wrote: “Sending you so much love. Hoping Mum will be back dancing very soon. Sending huge hugs my darling.”

Lucy Alexander replied: “Sending you a huge hug Ruthie… I know how much you love your mum. Hope she’s on the mend soon.”
