Formula 1’s own over-the-top platform, F1 TV, has been honoured at the 2024 Apple App Store awards after it was named Apple TV App of the Year.
A total of 17 apps and games were declared winners at the event in California, with App Store Editors selecting F1 TV among those honoured from a list of 45 finalists.
F1 TV was recognised for a “best-in-class viewing experience”, with the ‘Pro’ version of the app allowing users in 110 markets – including key regions such as the United States, the Netherlands and Mexico – access to every available angle of an grand prix, including driver on-boards, team radio and data channels.
The F1 TV Access app available globally does not allow live coverage but does contain new features including in-depth shows such as F1 Icons.
“This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication that goes on behind the scenes to create an immersive viewing experience that captivates fans and places them at the centre of the action,” said Ian Holmes, director of media rights and content creation at Formula 1.

“The 2025 season promises to be our biggest to date and F1 TV will be there to bring our fans every session of every race, amazing analysis, in-depth data and access to our incredible archive programming as we celebrate our 75th anniversary.”
Speaking at the awards, Apple CEO Tim Cook praised the winners and the “ingenuity” that led to their success.
“We are thrilled to honour this impressive group of developers who are harnessing the power of Apple devices and technology to deliver experiences that enrich the lives of users and have a profound impact on their communities,” he said.
“The remarkable achievements of this year’s winners demonstrate the incredible ingenuity that can be unlocked through apps.”
Other winners across the awards included Adobe Lightroom, What If…? An Immersive Story and Squad Busters.
