A man carrying a gun and fake IDs has been brought in for questioning in connection with the assassination of a top healthcare executive in central Manhattan, police sources say.
Brian Thompson, the chief executive of UnitedHealthcare, was shot dead last Wednesday outside a hotel near Central Park, in what police called a “premeditated, targeted attack”. His killer is believed to have fled the city by bus.
As the manhunt entered its sixth day on Monday, sources told US media outlets that a man in Altoona, Pennsylvania, about 300 miles west of New York City, was in custody and being questioned.
The man was said to have arrived in Altoona by bus before he was stopped by police, who according to The New York Times
