Police are questioning a “person of interest” in Pennsylvania in connection with the New York City murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, according to US media reports.
The man was taken into custody in Altoona, about 275 miles (440km) west of New York City, according to the BBC’s US news partner CBS News.
It is unconfirmed whether this person is the suspect in the killing of Thompson, who was shot dead on a busy New York City street on Wednesday.
The individual was found with a gun similar to the one used in the targeted killing, matched the physical description of a person of interest being sought by police, and was taken into custody because of an unrelated incident, CBS reported.
