I’m A Celebrity winner ‘sealed’ hours before final – and it’s not even close

The countdown to the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2024 finale is on, but it seems a victor has already been unofficially crowned.

Bookmakers have been closely monitoring the episodes and adjusting their forecasts accordingly. The latest odds reveal a clear frontrunner among the final three contenders: McFly’s Danny Jones, Reverend Richard Coles and Coleen Rooney, wife of footballer Wayne Rooney.

After enduring three weeks of gruelling bushtucker trials, incessant rain, and nights under the open sky in the I’m A Celeb jungle camp, viewers have formed strong opinions about the remaining celebrities.

It appears that pop sensation Danny is leading the pack with favourable odds that make his victory seem almost certain.

Leading bookmaker Ladbrokes has slashed Danny’s odds to a promising 4/9, leaving Coleen trailing at 9/4 and Richard lagging even further behind at 12/1.

The Star Girl singer has been a fan favourite since the start of the 2024 season, and all signs point to him being declared the winner come Sunday night, reports the Mirror.

Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati shared: “Danny couldn’t be in a better position, as far as the odds are concerned… with just three names still standing, punters are convinced he’s done enough to see off the chasing pack for this year’s jungle crown.”

Should he triumph, Danny will join the ranks of his bandmates who have previously won the coveted jungle title.

In the 2011 series of the survival show, McFly’s Dougie Poynter emerged as the king of the jungle, beating Towie personality Mark Wright and sports superstar Fatima Whitbread.

Moreover, Busted’s Matt Willis claimed victory in 2006, coming out on top over presenter Myleene Klass and Neighbours heartthrob Jason Donovan.

Fans will recall that Danny and Matt once performed together in McBusted, where Matt teamed up with fellow Busted member James Bourne alongside the McFly ensemble, creating a supergroup. The collaboration led to a chart-topping album and a successful duo of tours.

Looking back at his jungle experience post-victory, Dougie mused to DigitalSpy about his unexpected triumph: “It feels amazing. I think there was some kind of typo or something. I’ve got no idea how I won. Did I really win? It’s crazy.”

When contemplating the reasons for his win, the humble star confessed: “I honestly don’t know. If I analyse it too much I think I’ll go a bit mad.”
