Dame Prue Leith has said Gregg Wallace should not be sacked and probably “doesn’t realise what he’s done wrong” after several women accused him of making sexist and inappropriate jokes during filming.
The Great British Bake Off presenter told Times Radio that while it was “really stupid” for stars to become arrogant and think they are irreplaceable, it was also wrong of producers to not think they could control bad behaviour by sacking them.
“There’s no such thing as an irreplaceable talent,” she said. “I mean, they thought they couldn’t replace Mary Berry and they did,” she said of her predecessor on the baking show.
