Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 is an amazing RPG with some of the best companions that manage to put even Mass Effect to shame. With some raunchy romance scenes that have even managed to shock the game’s voice actors, there’s already some tender moments in the game. However, one new mod now allows you to have a softer, more emotional time with your virtual pals.
Baldur’s Gate 3 hug mod
Created by modder Magnetuning (great name), the new “Hug Your Companions” mod does exactly what it says on the tin. By installing the mod—which over 2,000 players already have—you’ll be able to ask your party members for a quick cuddle (platonic or otherwise) whenever you like.
All ten in-game companions can be asked for a hug with a Tav of any build. Using the animation set from the game’s epilogue, as well as voice lines from other parts of the game, every character can be hugged to your hearts content.
Magnetuning has created two versions of the “Hug Your Companions” mod. One version only allows hugs to be given following certain story moments and after the player hits certain conditions for each companion. However, an alternate “Free For All” version of the mod allows you to hug without issue.
Expanded hug options
Alongside the current hugging options, modder Magnetuning has announced that they want to add even more hugs in future updates.
“I do want to add the option to some other characters as well,” the modder explained. “I’m currently thinking of adding the option to Barcus Wroot and Alfira at the very least, and giving a unique option for Wyll to hug Ulder after they’ve reconciled, but beyond that I’m not sure. Feel free to request characters, but I can’t guarantee I’ll actually add the option for them.”
