Meghan Markle put on a show-stopping display as she walked the red carpet after making another solo appearance on Wednesday without Prince Harry. The 43-year-old supported her friend Tyler Perry at The Paley Honours Gala in Beverly Hills and dressed to impress, despite a recent stark warning.

The Duchess of Sussex was spotted in a chic strapless black Oscar de la Renta gown which is reported to be worth at least £4,850. The Strapless Cady Gown is “cut from decadent stretch-cady” with the style creating a draped and “flattering silhouette” thanks to the daring leg-split.

Meghan’s had been adjusted by a seamstress after it featured a longer train at the back, and she also wore a pair of Stuart Weitzman strappy heels which cost £440.

However, it was hard not to miss the huge sparkler around her neck from jeweller Logan Hollowell. Prices start for the eye-watering 18k Fortuna Diamond Tennis Necklace from £26,315.00.

Earlier this week Meghan came under fire following her luxurious lifestyle and expensive fashion taste. A German documentary entitled Harry: The Lost Prince included huge backlash over the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, after publicising poverty-stricken visits around the globe, but Meghan showing up in high-end expensive clothes.

Speaking on the programme, the Mirror’s Royal Editor, Russell Myers, said: “If you’re going to places like Nigeria, like Columbia, which have huge socio-economic problems, some of the world’s poorest communities in these countries, and you’re turning up wearing tens of thousands of pounds worth of designer clothes – it doesn’t send the right message.”

Meghan and Harry, 40, have no plans to return to the UK and will not be making a guest appearance at Sandringham this Christmas with the Royal Family.

The couple were part of the Tribute Host Committee Chairs for the celebrity event, though Prince Harry, 40, was not present on the red carpet.

Harry was in New York at the annual DealBook Summit and also attended rubbing shoulders with the likes of Jeff Bezos and Bill Clinton.

He was heard saying that his sole focus was: “being the best husband and the best dad that I can be”.

The Prince also shed light on security concerns about staying in Britain claiming that there were things his two children Prince Archie and Princess “undoubtedly wouldn’t be able to do in the UK”.

The former Suits actress put on a glamorous display at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel to support Hollywood star Tyler Perry, 55.

The visionary director, actor and philanthropist was honoured with a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of his career.

Meghan and her husband have a close friendship with the billionaire filmmaker, who is the godfather of their three-year-old daughter, Lilibet and allowed them to stay in his mega-mansion when they first fled to the US.
