The mum-of-four opened up about her miscarriages and why she didn’t follow the ‘K’ trend with the spelling of her fourth son
Coleen Rooney opened up to her campmates in tonight’s episode of I’m a Celebrity. The 38-year-old, who is married to Wayne Rooney, has travelled Down Under in a bid to be crowned Queen of the Jungle.
The mum-of-four opened up about her two miscarriages in an emotional conversation with professional dancer Oti and TV personality GK Barry. She told them: “I’ve had two miscarriages and I don’t know whether that has been girls, you know sometimes they say you can’t carry a certain sex, but they don’t investigate until you have your third one.”
Coleen shared how she had her first miscarriage before she had any children, with the second miscarriage coming before she had Kit and Cass. Coleen married former Manchester United striker in 2008 and the couple share four sons, Kai, Klay, Kit and Cass Mac.
Explaining the reason behind not having all of the names begin with a letter K, she revealed: “I looked up the meaning of the name Cassius and with a K it meant blackbird, and with a C it meant clever.”
Deciding on Cassius, Coleen and football star husband Wayne then chose Mac for his middle name given her maiden name was McLoughlin, and her friends used to nickname her Coleen Mac. As Coleen’s middle name was Mary, this then meant Cass would have the same initials as her, CMR.
She also shared that Cass Mac Rooney meant “clever son of Rooney, that’s the meaning. CMR. That’s the only connection I’ve got to the kids!”

The Croxteth native opened up on having four boys, she admitted: “I would’ve liked a girl for Wayne, I wasn’t desperate, he would’ve liked a girl, I wasn’t bothered either way.”
Coleen revealed when she had the first miscarriage she was scared but after she had her first child, it took that away. The 38-year-old said “I went on to have another one. It’s not a nice feeling for anyone, it’s horrible but knowing that I could conceive and have the child, that made me feel better.”
Speaking about husband Wayne, Coleen added: “I feel for the men in this situation. Wayne really felt it the first time round and it wasn’t until later on that I thought, ‘Do you know what, everyone’s fussing around me, but not him and he had to just get up and go to work as normal, it’s quite hard.”
Coleen Rooney has became one of the favourites to be crowned Queen of I’m a Celebrity this year. She has provided viewers with plenty of entertainment. The I’m a Celeb stars children have arrived in Australia today ahead of the first show eviction.
In a post uploaded to Coleen’s official Instagram account, two of Wayne and Coleen’s youngest children, Kit and Cass are pictured together with a kangaroo.
