Another music legend has confirmed they’re playing Glastonbury 2025.
Nile Rodgers, the man behind some of the most iconic pop albums of all-time, will be taking to the Pyramid Stage right after Sir Rod Stewart returns to Glasto in the Legends slot on Sunday June 29.
The Chic star let slip the news at last night’s Rolling Stone Awards held at London’s Camden Roundhouse, where he accepted the award for Music Icon.
‘We’re going to have a blast because we follow him directly,’ Nile enthused.
But he’s already gearing up for Rod to wreak havoc backstage with some unorthodox pranking.
‘Rod and I have been friends for 80 gazillion years, so that means he’s gonna play tricks on me,’ he said.
‘He’s probably gonna pinch my bum, because he always does that. I don’t know what the hell he gets out of that.’

‘We’re gonna have a great time together,’ he continued. ‘I don’t know who’s in his current band, but we’ll probably be jamming. Regardless of what the world may think, Rod Stewart and I, we really love each other. We really are quite close.’
Nile laughed when he was reminded news of his Glastonbury appearance hadn’t actually been announced yet.
He chuckled: ‘Am I not supposed to give that away? I always say too much.’
Sir Rod is currently the only artist confirmed to be heading to Worthy Farm next summer, with the likes of Sam Fender, Eminem, Charli XCX, Green Day, Harry Styles and Taylor Swift all among the artists tipped to headline.
While Sir Rod’s announcement got a huge response from fans of the festival, the singer revealed this week it’s going to cost him $300,000 to play.
However, he stressed: ‘But I don’t care if it cost me $1million, I would have done it. This is a great honour. It really is the greatest honour.’
Sir Rod headlined the festival in 2002 and is the first headliner to return for the Legends slot, which bean in 1998 with Tony Bennett.
Since then James Brown, Dolly Parton, Kylei Minogue and Shania Twain are among the artist to take the coveted slot on a Sunday afternoon.
Glastonbury festival organiser Emily Eavis said in a post on Instagram: ‘Bringing Sir Rod Stewart back for the Sunday afternoon slot on the Pyramid stage is everything we could wish for.
‘What a way to bow out with the final legend slot before we take a fallow year. We cannot wait!.’
