Behaviour Interactive has announced that Dead by Daylight has launched Doomed Course, which introduces The Houndmaster as a killer and Taurie Cain as a survivor.
Adding on to the eight-year-old game, Dead by Daylight has launched its latest chapter, Doomed Course. In the latest chapter, The Houndmaster emerges from the storm’s eye filled with vengeance with her trusty companion, Snug. on the other side, Taurie Cain has spent years pledging her devotion to The Entity, wounding up in The Fog but not how she envisioned.
Her dog, Snug, accompanies the Houndmaster, as both excel at hunting down their foe in a synergistic partnership and are determined to fulfill The Entitiy’s dark purpose. In the Dead by Daylight, The Houndmaster has a Scent of Blood Power that centers around Snug, the first AI-controlled animal character. Playing as Snug, the players will track down the survivors and when caught within The Houndmaster radius, she can use her Chase command to send Snug after the players to temporarily restrain them.
Alongside the power, The Houndmaster will have three character-specific perks in the Dead by Daylight, including:
- All Shaking Thunder – Plummet from a height to temporarily gain an extended lunge, allowing you to quickly close the gap on your rampage.
- Scourge Hook: Jagged Compass – After a survivor is unhooked from a non-Scourage hook, it becomes a Scourage Hook. after hooking a survivor with the Scourage Hook, the Generator with the most progress is briefly revealed.
- No Quarter – after encountering the Houndmaster, the survivor would be left shaken. Whenever one of the survivors completes a self-heal, they would be overwhelmed with an adrenaline-pounding series of difficult Skill Check and if failed, they would be Broken for a duration.
With the introduction of Houndmaster, Dead by Daylight: Doomed Course introduces Taurie Cain as the latest survivor with a dark moral. Being a long-lasting member of the Black Talon, the group would believe The Entitiy holds the key to transcending humanity. Taurie being the most loyal member, was tasked to take an innocent man’s life but failed, and is now suffering in The Fog. As she enters the dog, she will have three character-specific perks, including:
- Invocation: Treacherous Crows – when in the Basement, the survivor can begin an invocation to become Injured and Broken for the rest of the trial, but the killer aura will be revealed to all the survivors whenever they disturb a crow.
- Clean Break – After healing another survivor, you could become instantly Broken when healed by another survivor. If you survive long enough, you can regain your lost Health State.
- Shoulder The Burden – Once per trial, you can activate the Shoulder the Burden before unhooking a survivor. When they are unhooked, they lose 1 Hook State and you gain one Hook State, but screen, and you become exposed for a brief duration.
Not to mention, there will be a new outfit available in Dead by Daylight: Doomed Course as Taurie can take a memory down the lane from being a member of the Black Talon, wearing a Very Rare Outfit that will have her peers looking over their shoulder. She isn’t alone in receiving a new outfit as Houndmaster will don her new Visceral Legendary Outfit, bringing another of her favourite dogs to the forefront.
Alongside, there will be a Junji Ito Collection arriving, featuring eight outfits inspired by the Japanese writer’s more terrifying characters, containing two legendary for The Artist as Miss Fuchi and The Spirit as Tomie Kawakami, both featuring a special audio recorded to accompany the outfits. The collection will also feature new Very Rare Outfit for The Twins, The Trickster, The Dredge, Yui Kimura, Yun-Jin Lee, and Kate Denson.
