The Radio 4 Today programme presenter Mishal Husain is departing from the BBC after 26 years, leaving staff dismayed that bosses could not find her a suitable opportunity to stay.
Husain, 51, is joining the business news channel Bloomberg to present a weekend interview show after her departure from the corporation in the new year.
She said that she would always be grateful for the opportunities she received at the BBC. “My time at the BBC has involved many memorable moments, going to places I would never otherwise have seen, witnessing history and being part of live, national conversation on Radio 4,” she added.
