Furious I’m a Celeb fans slam show for ‘changing rules’ after failed secret task

I’M A Celebrity fans have accused the show of ‘changing the rules’ after the truth about the Jungle Junkyard was rumbled.

Tonight, Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles were confronted about lying about the Junkyard, where they’ve been living for the past three days.

At the Bushtucker Trial, the group confirmed they knew they’d been hiding something from them.

Maura and Richard were late entrants into the jungle this week, and were able to live the life of luxury in the secret second camp.

However, they were tasked with keeping it secret from the rest of the group, earning meals for a special buffet as long as they weren’t found out.

So for the past couple of days the pair have been working to make it look like they were living in squalor, when in actuality they had access to food, hot baths and comfort.

On Friday night, Dean McCullough joined the duo, but it didn’t take long for Coleen Rooney to catch on to something being wrong.

After relaying her suspicions to the group, the game was up, but on tonight’s episode Ant and Dec revealed they would still get the prize they were fighting for – a massive buffet for everyone in camp.

Viewers thought it was unfair and accused the show of changing the rules, which clearly stated they would lose their prize if they were found out.

“they were meant to lose the buffet if they got rumbled… but they still get the buffet,” wrote one fan on X. “what a waste of time”

Another added: “have they changed the rules?? I thought if the Junkyard got caught out, the buffet would be cancelled??”

A third noted the same thing and said: “The original rules of the junkyard meant that the other campmates weren’t supposed to suspect a thing the whole time and then they’d get the buffet prize So take away all the already won food. (And blame Dean).”

While a fourth was also fuming: “They failed the junkyard buffet mission so why are they still getting it?? I’m a Celeb’s changing the rules to suit! Outrageous!!!”

“So the aim of the game was not be rumbled, if they can keep it secret they win a buffet. They got caught…but won the buffet anyway??” questioned a fifth.

During their time in the Jungle Junkyard, Maura and Richard were told they could earn meals for a special buffet by convincing the camp to hand over their precious resources.

That included one of their beds, as well as some of their rationed food.

But today they had to pay the price with a grisly Bushtucker Trial where they had to eat disgusting delicacies to win the final meals.

The pair succeeded and are now official members of the camp.
