Russia’s alliances raise tensions as ex top general declares ‘WW3 has begun’

Ukraine’s former military chief has declared that World War Three has already arrived, with North Korea, Iran and China acting as Russia’s strong allies.

Speaking at the UP100 award ceremony, which celebrates 100 Ukrainian civil society, political, military, business, sports and culture leaders, Valery Zaluzhny issued a warning about what he believes about the current war state.

He said: “I believe in 2024 we can absolutely believe that the Third World War has begun.”

At the beginning of the year, he also addressed the matter of the alliances Russia has made with North Korea, stating that “Ukraine is no longer facing Russia. Soldiers from North Korea are standing in front of Ukraine.”

The comments followed reports of the North Korean city, Pyongyang, distributing around 10,000 militaries to fight with Russian soldiers in Kursk.

The former chief, who is now Ukraine’s envoy to the UK, mentioned that Tehran is also in support of the Russian army in that fight with Ukraine.

Over 8,000 drones developed in Iran have been launched in the two-and-a-half years of the war, according to Kyiv, and has also reportedly sent thousands of Shahed attack drones to Moscow, while also helping Russia build its own.

Valery Zaluzhny described Iran’s aid to the war as “killing civilians absolutely openly, without any shame.”

The idea that World War Three is happening can come from the fact that now Chinese and North Korean weapons are being used in Ukraine, according to the former chief. Additionally, Moscow’s ambassador to the UK stated that Britain had become “directly involved” in the war following Kyiv’s Storm Shadow attack on Russian territory.

Lt. Gen Sir Rob Magowan, deputy chief of the British defence staff, told the House of Commons defence committee on November 21 that “If the British Army was asked to fight tonight, it would fit tonight.”

Despite the top military official’s comment and the fact that the UK military capabilities would not be able to stand over two months in the war against Russia, the PM had already told BBC local radio that the UK is “not at war, but Ukraine certainly is.” Following with a statement he made that the war “could end today if Putin stopped being the aggressor.”
