Fortnite increases Battle Pass cost amid Crew subscription overhaul

Must read

Epic Games has recently announced a price hike for Fortnite’s popular Battle Pass along with a few major changes to your Crew subscription.

Fortnite Battle Pass cost update

For years, unlocking Fortnite’s premium battle pass track required players to spend 950 V-Bucks. But this cost is set to rise in Fortnite, and we’ve got all the details you need to know.

Starting December 1, 2024, when Chapter 6 Season 1 releases, the price of the Fortnite Battle Pass is going up 50 V-Bucks from 950 to 1,000. Thankfully, Epic Games has confirmed that the real money price of V-Bucks will remain the same and you’ll still be able to earn V-Bucks through leveling the Battle Pass.

On top of that, the Music Pass and LEGO Pass will remain the same price of 1,400 V-Bucks which means only the battle royale pass is getting the hit.

When it comes to the other variants, i.e., the 25 Battle Pass Reward Bundle and the Battle Bundle, these can now be purchased for 1,800 V-Bucks (down from 1,850) and 2,800 V-Bucks, respectively.

Fortnite Crew subscription, which already provided exceptional value, has been significantly upgraded and the details are worth diving into.

Previously, the Fortnite Crew subscription offered a monthly bundle featuring an exclusive skin pack (including pickaxes, back blings, and sometimes alternate styles), 1,000 V-Bucks, and access to the seasonal Battle Pass—all for $11.99.

If you already owned the Battle Pass, the subscription refunded 950 V-Bucks which gives a possible total of 2,000 V-Bucks monthly. The Fortnite Crew was already seen as a great deal, with clever timing even allowing subscribers to pay once and gain benefits for two months.

But Fortnite has just taken it to the next level. Starting December 1st, subscribers will receive even more content for the same price. A recent announcement confirmed that the subscription would now include the Music, LEGO, and OG passes in addition to the regular Battle Pass.

What makes this change remarkable is that subscribers can now earn rewards from all these passes simultaneously, no matter which game mode they’re playing. This means leveling up in any mode will unlock rewards from each of these passes.

The concept of earning rewards across multiple passes is a game-changer. You no longer need to play a specific mode, like LEGO mode, to unlock its rewards. Each level gained will grant items from the Battle Pass, Festival Pass, LEGO Pass, and OG Pass which makes the subscription more valuable.

However, there’s a slight twist. Starting December 1st, new Fortnite Crew members must maintain an active subscription to keep earning rewards.

For instance, if a new subscriber cancels halfway through a pass, they’ll retain only the rewards they’ve unlocked up to that point and lose access to further progress. This policy doesn’t apply to players subscribed before December 1st as long as they remain continuously subscribed.
