A British lawyer is in hospital after allegedly being served poisoned alcohol while on holiday in a backpacking hotspot in Laos.
One of two Australian teenagers left gravely ill after drinking the alcohol containing methanol in Vang Vieng has died.
Two Danish women aged in their 20s and an American are also reported to have died. At least 11 others are believed to have been left seriously unwell after being caught up in the mass drink poisoning.
Bianca Jones, 19 from Melbourne died on Thursday at a hospital in Udon Thani, in Thailand’s north near the border with Laos. She, along with her school friend, Holly Bowles, also, 19 are believed to have been served drinks laced with methanol in Vang Vieng.
