I’m a Celebrity 2024: Alan Halsall discusses Lucy Jo-Hudson split and dating

Must read

I’m a Celebrity‘s Alan Halsall has discussed his split from his former Corrie co-star Lucy-Jo Hudson.

It was the third day in camp and the celebrities have begun sharing details about their romance lives — Tulisa revealed she’s been celibate for three years, GK Barry spoke about coming out to her parents and Coleen Rooney reflected on the early days of her marriage to Wayne.

Halsall — who plays Tyrone in Coronation Street — admitted he has never done dating apps. The actor had been married to former Corrie star Hudson and they share their 11-year-old daughter Sienna-Rae.

He told Dean McCullough and Tulisa: “Lucy left Corrie in about 2005, then we got married in 2009. We then split up after Sienna was born. I love just being dad.”

He added: “I’ve never done dating apps, I don’t even know what I’d do!”

Also, GK Barry put her heart on the line talking about her romance with footballer Ella Rutherford for the first time in the jungle.

She told the camp:It was by accident I found Ella, through a mutual friend and then I really liked her the first day I met her but I’d never told my parents.”

Elsewhere in the show, Tulisa didn’t mind sharing she isn’t an overly sexualised person. She said: “I’m a slow, slow burner, I’ve been celibate for over three years.”

One of the other biggest talking points from the show was Dean McCullough shouting “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here” during the trial after only getting two stars.

Ant and Dec gave him the questions they would have asked him in the trial The Sinister Sarcophagus — and he would have got them right, meaning he would have got more meals for camp.

He wailed as he undertook the Bushtucker trial in Tuesday’s episode — and unsurprisingly he is now doing the next Bushtucker trial Drown in the Dumps with GK Barry.

Initially McCullough won viewers over when he called Coleen Rooney by her nickname “Wagatha Christie” on their first meeting but he was voted to do the trial after irritating some viewers.

Among the complaints of course was Rooney’s rival Rebekah Vardy who blasted McCoughlin as “irritating” and “tiresome” in her latest newspaper column for The Sun. She doesn’t like how he’s been — in her words — “cosying up to Coleen”.

Jane replies: “So then why would you do it online?”

Only 25 years old, GK Barry has built a career in the spotlight after rocketing to fame on TikTok by documenting her daily life as a student at Nottingham Trent University.

The star has branched out from social media as she also appears on ITV daytime chat show Loose Women as a guest panellist since this summer in August, and now looks to be adding reality television to her showbiz CV.

As a rising name in the showbiz industry, GK Barry had also been tipped to star on Strictly Come Dancing this year — although the scheduling of the show clashes with I’m a Celebrity which is filmed in Australia with Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly at the helm.

Professionally she has become known as GK Barry but her real name is Grace Eleanor Keeling. She made history as the youngest ever panellist on Loose Women earlier this year, and has 498,000 subscribers on YouTube, 852,000 followers on Instagram, and 3.6 million on TikTok. The social media star is also an ambassador for Ann Summers and PrettyLittleThing.

The influencer is in a relationship with England footballer Ella Rutherford and she told the Loose Women panel that they moved in after the first date.

She’s perhaps best known for her Saving Grace podcast that is billed as a “rollercoaster of emotions” and her own “wild tales of university escapades to laugh-out-loud moments”. As well as talking about her own life, she interviews celebrity guests including Alan Carr who made a recent appearance.
