Coleen admitted Wayne “fought” to get her
ITV I’m A Celebrity…. Get Me Out Of Here! returned with an extended launch night episode this evening. This year’s line-up includes the likes of Coleen Rooney, Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse and McFly’s Danny Jones.
The celebrities were tasked with chugging bug filled smoothies and sticking their hands through “hell holes” in order to arrive at camp. Once everyone was settled in to their new home, conversation turned to each other’s personal lives.
Coleen recalled how she first met her husband, former Everton striker Wayne Rooney. She said they met when they were 12 and began dating when she was 16.

Oti asked her if it was love at first sight. Coleen amitted: “No, it was for him, not for me. He fought to get me, yeah. I waited until I’d done my GCSEs and then I went on a date. I was pretty good at school.”
Coleen went on to reveal they went to the cinema, and “had a kiss around the church first”. The 38-year-old tied the knot with Wayne in 2008 with a wedding in Portofino, Italy. The couple share four sons together – Kai, 13, Klay, 10, Kit, seven, and Cass, five.
Coleen hit the ground running tonight as she was paired up wit Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough. The pair endured a sinking kayak and managed to survive the public’s vote for the first bush tucker trial.
In a message shared with her Instagram followers this week, Coleen said: “I’ve always said no and put it off because the kids have been young and I’ve had quite a lot on. But this year, I thought, I quite fancy doing it.
“I would like to experience something different, do something for myself, meet new people. I’m looking forward to doing the trials.”
Coleen admitted she was worried about the prospect of leaving behind her children. She added: “Don’t get me wrong. I’m really anxious about leaving the kids. That’s been my biggest thing. I’ve come to terms with it. I’ve planned and prepped.
“I’ve got an army of family and friends all helping out with the kids so they are going to be fine. They are probably going to have a great time while I’m away.”
