The new series of ‘I’m A Celeb’ is set to chuck a whole series of disgusting and scary challenges at the stars from the very beginning of their journey into the jungle
ITV has finally unveiled the first challenge of this year’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here series, and it’s not going to be a walk in the park for the celebs. Instead of the usual plank challenge that tests the celebrities’ fear of heights, the chosen few will now have to compete in a race to become leaders of the camp.
The show kicks off with Strictly star Oti Mabuse, N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos, presenter Dean McCullough, Loose Women’s Jane Moore and McFly’s Danny Jones at a luxury villa. As they wait by the pool, the sound of helicopters interrupts their greetings.
Five choppers hover above them, one of which carries hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly. The Geordie duo then explain to the nervous celebrities that they each have a helicopter and will need to use a parachute as they’re about to go skydiving.

But before they board their choppers, they must drink a revolting cocktail, typical of a Bushtucker trial, to determine who will skydive first. Danny finishes his drink first, followed by Tulisa, Jane, Dean and finally Oti, reports the Mirror.
The hosts then reveal that once they land on a nearby beach, they’ll meet the other celebrities – social media star GK Barry, former boxer Barry McGuigan, Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall, WAG Coleen Rooney and presenter Melvin.
Once the two groups converge, they must decide on their pairings. Danny and Barry quickly form a team, known as Team Orange.
Tulisa and Alan join forces to become Team Red, followed by Jane and GK who make up Team Green. Dean and Coleen represent Team Yellow, while Oti and Melvin are Team Pink.
The incentive for winning the race is the privilege of staying in the Leader’s Lodge and enjoying the benefits that come with victory. Upon meeting, the groups encounter a signpost by the river instructing them to ‘Release A Boat To Continue The Race’, but a key is required to unlock the boat.
Once unlocked, they can commence rowing to the next challenge. However, in true I’m A Celeb fashion, there’s a twist – their boats start filling with water.
The question remains: who will reach camp first and earn the title of camp leaders?
