Married at First Sight UK has finished for another season and with it we say goodbye to what has been one of our favourite couples across all nine seasons, Kristina and Kieran. And now Kristina has revealed if there’s a chance for a romantic reconciliation for herself and Kieran.
Kieran and Kristina have easily been one of the fans’ most favourite couples this series, but they ended their relationship during the final weeks of the series, both opting to leave the experiment. And in last night’s reunion episode the pair had a tearful final goodbye with the experts Paul, Mel and Charlene, while reflecting on their relationship.
They ended the series as friends, and while many fans (us included) are hoping the two could get back together, Kristina has firmly shut down any chance of a romantic reconciliation.
While speaking to Cosmopolitan UK about her time on the show, when asked if there’s any chance of a romantic future she gave a firm no.
“No thank you,” she hastily replied. “Oh my gosh no. As much as I love Kieran, unfortunately that ship has sailed.”
She went onto reflect on how it’s been watching the show back, saying: “We have been so supportive of each other. It was really hard to navigate mine and Kieran’s friendship. It still feels like sometimes he doesn’t let me in, which is fine and I take a step back. When he’s ready I am here. We’ve learnt a lot from each other.”
Kristina and Kieran were the first couple to head down the aisle this series, with Kieran creating MAFS UK history by wearing a pair of set false teeth to the nuptials. Following on from their hilarious ceremony they continued to build their strong connection, opening up to each other and sharing difficult moments from past relationships.
When they returned from their honeymoon, they carried on getting on well but struggled to build their physical intimacy due to Kieran having a cold sore. They then struggled further as Kieran was questioning if they could have a future together because of Kristina’s PMDD and their lack of alignment on future goals.
Sadly, it wasn’t meant to be and the pair ended up opting to leave the experiment. While they left on a very tearful and emotional note, they both seemed to have a lot of respect and love for one another and seem to still be friendly after the experiment.
Well, we’ll always have that teeth moment.
