And one store in the west of Scotland is a treasure trove which has something for everyone who is fond of video games.

Forgotten Worlds in Stewarton, Ayrshire, has has dubbed itself the ‘biggest retro gaming shop’ in the country.

The premises is chock full of both classic and modern consoles and games, playing cards – including collectible and rare items – figurines, comics soft toys, and TV and movie memorabilia, including a 1:1 scale Grogu from The Mandalorian.

Among the playing cards are English and Japanese Pokemon cards.

There are racks of games, including Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, Game Boy, GameCube, PSP, Atari, and much more.

Customers can also treat themselves to a selection of sweets and juices from the UK and around the world, including Japan, Canada, Australian, and the US.

In stock are various varieties of American crisps, pretzels and snacks.

There a fridge packed full of American and Japanese drinks.

If that doesn’t whet your appetite, then the pièce de résistance at the back of the store surely will.

Forgotten Worlds has its very own arcade, full classic favourites, including Aliens, two-player Mario Kart, and Out Run.

There is even an immersive Star Wars battle pod – believed to be the only one in Scotland – and a Street Fighter II themed slot machine, which is up for sale.

Anyone looking for spare controllers, joy sticks, cables or other items can find them in-store.

Gaming lovers have showed there appreciation for the unbelievable range of stock.

One person wrote: “What a collection of nostalgia.”

A third gushed: “In my opinion the best retro game shop in the whole UK. No doubt about that.”

Forgotten Worlds is open seven days a week from 10am till 5pm, except from Thursday when the store is open until 8pm.
