This week, Pete Wicks and Jowitza Przystal took to the dance floor to perform their Couple’s Choice to The Best by Nicotine Dolls, which he dedicated to his nan.
In the VT before the performance, Pete spoke about how much his grandparent meant to him, which shone through during the dance.
After their performance, they stood with host Tess Daly to hear the critique from the judges and Pete was visibly emotional. His lip was quivering as Shirley Ballas said she had to take deep breaths before giving her feedback.
When chatting to Claudia Winkleman, Pete explained it had “been a difficult week” as Jowita hugged him reassuringly.
The pair received top scores from the judges with Shirley awarding the pair a 10, which set Pete off once again.
Viewers at home were also impressed as one posted on X: “That was absolutely beautiful Pete & Jowita! Felt the emotion #Strictly.” Another added: “Wow loved Pete’s dance so emotional bless him #strictly,” as someone else continued: “I really don’t know anything about dancing, but I know what I like and I loved Pete & Jowita. #strictly.”
Ahead of tonight’s live show, it was revealed body language and behavioural expert Darren Stanton was certain Wynne Evans and Chris McCausland would be the next duo likely to find themselves in the bottom two.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Slots, he said Wynne is at risk as he expressed: “With Wynne and Katya, they have a very unique relationship. They do have a very strong dynamic, and their rapport is no doubt good – they are both perfectionists. They have strong eye contact but I’ve noticed at times when they get feedback from judges, Wynne can be ever so slightly separate, as if he’s taking it upon himself, and the ego is kicking in.
“I think he sometimes sees himself as more of a single entity rather than being part of a team, he can be quite vocal with the judges. I’m not seeing the same degree of them being tactile, or great eye contact, and we’re not seeing a very strong rapport demonstrated between them, and I think they could be at risk of going home this weekend.”
Meanwhile, Darren is certain Chris will struggle, commenting: “For Chris and Dianne, I think they have reached the stage in the competition where it’s gone beyond judges being able to look past mistakes, with technical ability, rapport and connection the most important. Although Chris has done miraculously well throughout the competition, I think this week may be his time to go. He will struggle as the demands become more technical.”
