Lady Louise Windsor cuddles up to uni boyfriend at party in low-key student life

Lady Louise Windsor, often dubbed the Royal Family’s “secret weapon”, was recently seen partying with her university boyfriend as she prepares to celebrate her 21st birthdaytoday.

The young royal, who is 16th in line to the throne, has reportedly been seeing Felix da Silva-Clamp for some time now, having met at St Andrews University in Scotland – a romantic setting reminiscent of Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s love story.

Lady Louise, currently in her third year studying English, was snapped earlier this year enjoying a night out with friends, dancing and taking selfies with Felix at a fundraiser for the university’s drama society. The daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, appears particularly close with Felix in the photos, with the pair seen cuddling up together.

Another image shows Lady Louise resting her hand on Felix’s chest and her head on his shoulder. Sources suggest that Felix, whose father is a solicitor, gets along well with Lady Louise’s parents.

He is believed to work part-time at an ice cream parlour in St Andrews alongside his studies. Meanwhile, Lady Louise reportedly spent the summer of 2022 working at a garden centre before starting her university journey.

Despite her Royal status, it’s said that she assisted with tasks such as manning the tills, welcoming customers, and pruning and potting plants at the garden centre, reports the Mirror.

One customer revealed: “She is a really modest and sweet young woman who is polite and attentive to customers. She seemed to be loving the job. You’d never imagine the Queen’s granddaughter would take on a role working behind a till.”

Another added: “The staff seemed to adore her. It’s not every day you buy your begonias off a royal.”

Lady Louise Windsor, who celebrates her 21st birthday today, may contemplate studying abroad as part of her four-year English Literature degree course. Despite being born into royalty, her birth was fraught with difficulties; Lady Louise was delivered via an emergency Caesarean due to placental abruption in 2003, causing significant blood loss for both her and her mother, Sophie.

After spending time in the neo-natal unit at St George’s Hospital, Tooting, south London, she made a quick recovery and was baptised in the Private Chapel of Windsor Castle the following April. Like Louise, Felix was also born in the capital city but received his education at Melbourne Grammar School.

His mother, linked with the World Health Organisation’s mental health gap action programme, lives in Australia, fuelling speculation that Lady Louise might consider Macquarie University in Australia for part of her studies.

Despite being a member of the royal circle including Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Prince William, and Prince Harry, Lady Louise Windsor shuns the title of “Princess”, mirroring her father Prince Edward’s wishes for her to enjoy a life out of the relentless Royal limelight. Sophie, Countess of Wessex revealed in a candid 2020 chat with The Sunday Times their parenting philosophy: “We try to bring them up with the understanding that they are very likely to have to work for a living. Hence we made the decision not to use HRH titles.”
