After a brief hiatus due to the World Series, Fox’s The Masked Singer returned on Wednesday for what was supposed to be a double-elimination episode.
The Group B finals pitted Wasp, Goo and Bluebell against each other, with just one slated to move on to the quarterfinals.
However, the judges threw fans for a loop, saving Goo – who lost the Battle Royale – by ringing the bell above the stage.
They couldn’t save the last in votes, though, Bluebell, who revealed herself to be Australian in one of the final clues.
None of the judges’ final guesses were correct, though, as Bluebell was revealed to be Aussie singer and actress Natalie Imbruglia, which stunned the judges.Â

The reveal of Natalie Imbruglia as Bluebell stunned all of the judges, including Robin Thicke
The early clue package revealed Imbruglia was at the top of her field, likely referring to her massive 1997 hit single Torn, which was also alluded to with a ripped photograph.
She said everything changed when she became a mom, referring to her son Max, who was born in 2019.
She sang Do You Love Me by The Contours on the episode, which was 60s Night, where every performer sang a song from that decade.
The extra clue was an invention that debuted in that decade, with hers being an Easy Bake Oven… which had a vegemite sandwich, revealing she’s an Aussie.
Ken Jeong originally guessed she was Rose Byrne, while Rita Ora went with Kylie Minogue and Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg guessing Naomi Watts.
The judges all stuck to those original guesses for their final guesses, with Robin Thicke adding Isla Fisher as his guess.
They were all stunned when Bluebell was unmasked as Imbruglia, which comes just two years after she won the UK version of Masked Singer, where she performed as Panda.Â
When host Nick Cannon asked why she decided to come on the show, Imbruglia said, ‘Well, it’s just so much fun to get– for me– to do the dance choreography and everything. Things that I don’t do actually in my music career. But I’m actually a stage school kid. So I grew up doing it. And so it’s fun for me!’

The judges were stunned that she was actually Australian because her accent didn’t come through, as she explained, ‘I’m struggling to get my accent back because I’ve been in American accent the whole time.’
She even admitted that the Aussie delicacy vegemite was not her, ‘favorite thing,’ which host Cannon agreed with.
When asked if she had any last words, the singer said, ‘Just thank you so much for supporting Bluebell.’
‘I know I haven’t been here long, but I’ve had the best time. And, yeah, I just– thank you Masked Singer for having me! It’s been amazing,’ she concluded.
