Samsung pivoted in a different direction this year by unveiling its first smart ring, the Galaxy Ring, which left quite the impact on users and the tech community for being a health-focused compact device that could be comfortably worn throughout the day. The company has been working on introducing more size options and making the wearable more accessible widely by working aggressively on extending the user base. While it has not been long since the first model came out, speculations regarding the Galaxy Ring 2 and its possible launch date have already started emerging, with the recent one claiming that we might see the next generation of the smart ring sooner than expected.
A Korean leaker has now shared that Samsung’s Galaxy Ring 2 could come out sooner than originally planned
When Samsung entered the smart ring category with its first smart ring, users were hooked on what the ring would entail. When the Galaxy Ring finally came out, the tech community was buzzing about its key health features, compactness, and the comfort the wearable offered primarily due to how lightweight it was. While generally a successor is expected with major product releases and previous leaks did hint at the possibility of a Galaxy Ring 2, a leaker now claims the Galaxy Ring 2 might come out earlier than originally planned.
As per a Korean leaker’s post, yeyx1122, Samsung might unveil the new Galaxy Ring earlier than expected, and while there are no specifics shared regarding the possible launch window, the hint at a possibly earlier release does have us intrigued. If we see the trend for the original Galaxy Ring, which went for a July release after hinting about the possibility of the smart ring earlier in the year.
The leaker went on to suggest the noteworthy upgrades we should expect from the Galaxy Ring 2, including possibly a slimmer profile and extended battery life. While no other details are shared, this leak should still be taken with a grain of salt until Samsung officially confirms the upcoming Galaxy Ring 2’s details.
While the Galaxy Ring was well received by users, one major hiccup that users faced and shared their dismay over was the endurance the wearable offered, which could be worked on and could improve the experience drastically. Samsung generally incorporates user feedback and makes tweaks accordingly, so we hope that this major complaint might also be addressed with the Galaxy Ring 2 coming out soon.
We expect the new Galaxy Ring 2 to be packed with more capabilities, especially since the smart ring is reportedly seeing more competition, with Apple possibly making an entry in the category as well.
