Major supermarket to open 11 new stores across the UK ahead of Christmas

There will be a rush to the supermarkets for all things Christmas; think turkeys, crackers, chocolate and pudding.

Already a supermarket giant, Aldi is committed to investing £800million in expanding its UK outlets.

“Our new store openings are a testament to our ongoing investment in the UK, and we’re thrilled to bring Aldi’s unbeatable prices to even more communities ahead of the festive season.”

Between now and Christmas, Aldi is to open 11 new stores across the UK and 15 stores will undergo refurbishments.

Six Aldi stores will open up in November, including stores in Dumfries and Greater London.

New stores in Sedgley in the West Midlands, and Castle Douglas in Scotland, are set to open this week, while Horsham in West Sussex, and Muswell Hill in London, are also preparing to welcome new stores in November.

Six more Aldi stores will open in December in the likes of Tyne and Wear, and Greater Manchester.

The expansion continues with stores in Totton in Hampshire, Cribbs Causeway in Bristol, and Pwllheli in Gwynedd also scheduled to open before Christmas.

The Aldi stores opening in November:

  • Bilston Street, Sedgley, West Midlands
  • Oakwell Road, Castle Douglas, Dumfries and Galloway
  • Tanbridge Retail Park, Horsham, West Sussex
  • Straiton Road, Loanhead, Midlothian
  • Muswell Hill, Haringey, Greater London
  • Caernavon Road, Pwllheli, Gwynedd

The Aldi stores opening in December:

  • Salisbury Road, Totton, Hampshire
  • Cribbs Causeway, Bristol
  • Colliery Lane, Hetton-le-Hole, Tyne and Wear
  • Princess Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield, Greater Manchester
  • Duff Street, Macduff, Banffshire

The latest openings form part of Aldi’s long-term target of 1,500 stores across the UK.
