Emma Stone suggests that director Yorgos Lanthimos ‘he’s my muse’

Emma Stone won an Oscar working with Poor Things director Yorgos Lanthimos, suggesting that “he’s my muse.”

The Game of Thrones star joked during a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival of Kinds of Kindness, marking their third collaboration after The Favourite and Poor Things.

Stone was adamant to disregard the suggestion that she is the Greek auteur’s “muse.”

Instead, the self-described feminist star shared that it’s actually the other way round.

Responding to a question about her stance on viewing herself as an activist when picking roles, Stone explained: “I am a feminist. Whether that’s activism or not, that just is what makes sense to me. I don’t know I’m really the type of actor that’s like, ‘I need to do this film because it has this particular message.’”

She went on to admit: “I just find the characters interesting, the world’s interesting, and it’s something that I want to explore.”

Marking a return to more surreal work together, Kinds of Kindness aims to maintain the streak.

The film has garnered praises from masses, but many have speculated that the film might be a little too disruptive for different audiences.

For the unversed, Jesse Plamons stars in the film, featuring another Poor Things alumnus.

The film is slated to release on June, 21 this year.
