A huge change has been made to the way people will be able to purchase Glastonbury Festival tickets. Usually, those hoping to bag tickets would have to refresh the landing page when tickets went on sale but things will be different this year after bosses at the festival made the announcement.

Fans will now be placed in an online virtual queue in what will be a completely new way of booking tickets for the famous festival. This change comes alongside ticket prices changing. This year tickets will cost £373.50 excluding a £5 booking fee, this is an increase of £13.50 from 2024.

Speaking previously about the price increase, co-organiser of the festival, Emily Eavis said: “We have tried very hard to minimise the increase in price on the ticket but we’re facing enormous rises in the costs of running this vast show, while still recovering from the huge financial impact of two years without a festival because of Covid.”

Tickets and coach travel for Glastonbury 2025 will go on sale on November 14 at 6pm and regular tickets will be available at 9am on Sunday, November 17. You can only buy tickets if you are registered to buy them.

This comes as part of the ongoing bid to beat the ticket touts who resell tickets for ridiculous prices. Festival bosses have warned that those hoping to attend will need to check the status of their registration in order to avoid disappointment.

Registration for this year closes at 5pm on Monday, November 11. For those eligible to enter the sale you will be given a place in a virtual queue and randomly assigned a number. But if you log on once the sale has started, you will be placed at the back of the queue.

Bosses Michael and Emily Eavis have warned that if you refresh your browser you can be sent to the back of the queue and using multiple devices at one time may also harm chances. Once at the front of the queue, fans will be asked for their registration number and postcode associated with the lead booker to purchase tickets for themselves and five others. You will need to have the details of those you are attending with as the information cannot be changed at a later date. Tickets will be sold at glastonbury.seetickets.com. The remaining balance will be due in the first week of April 2025.
