Tesla is dropping support for Steam in its cars.

According to Electrek, new Model S and Model X buyers are being informed that the support, which would allow owners to play Steam games on the car’s display, will soon be dropped.

“Tesla is updating the gaming computer in your Model X and your vehicle is no longer capable of playing Steam games. All other entertainment and app functionalities are unaffected,” reads a message sent to owners.

Steam support allowed users to play games while the car was in park, or when it was charging. In 2022, Tesla launched a native Steam app for its cars.

It’s believed that existing owners won’t be affected by the update.

When Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted in 2021 that Cyberpunk 2077 was playable in Tesla cars, shares in Cyberpunk developer CD Projekt sharply rose.

In other Valve news, images of what is reportedly Valve’s next game are circulating on social media.

According to Tyler McVicker, who has a good track record of reporting details of Valve projects ahead of their announcement, the game is called Deadlock and “hundreds” of people are currently playtesting it.

Images allegedly from a private playtest of the game appear to show 6v6 gameplay, with abilities not unlike those in Overwatch or similar competitive hero shooters.
