Partick Thistle have continued to perform above expectations this season, with the part-timers securing their top six position and reaching the Sky Sports Cup Final, where they were defeated 4-1 by Rangers.

Brian Graham has led the team in conjunction with his other duties – as the Firhill side’s men’s team captain and star striker – since September 2020 and won promotion to the SWPL top division in his first season in charge, going from strength to strength under his tutelage.

Rangers did win their last meeting 3-1 at Petershill in April, but took two late goals to get the job done, as Sarah Ewens and Rachel Rowe netted in the final five minutes after Thistle’s Imogen Longcake had cancelled out Kirsty Howat’s opener with 22 minutes left.

The Jags also held the Gers to a goalless draw at the same stadium in February, but Rangers picked up the win in their first meeting as Howat bagged the only goal in a 1-0 win.

Rangers haven’t exactly been slouches in goalscoring department themselves, netting 109 goals in 31 games. With both Celtic and Rangers having conceded just 18 goals in those same fixtures, it looks like it will take a minor miracle to overhaul their rivals this afternoon, but Rangers have to be ready to pounce on any potential Celtic slip and that means a professional performance against a plucky and tricky foe at Broadwood Stadium.
