Barry Keoghan played University of Oxford student Oliver Quick in Saltburn which was released in 2023.
He has also starred in other films including The Banshees of Inisherin, The Killing of a Sacred Deer and Marvel’s Eternals while also appearing as the Joker in 2022’s The Batman.
The Irish actor has now been cast in the brand new Peaky Blinders film alongside fellow Irishman Cillian Murphy.

This film follows on from the six series of the period show created by Steven Knight which ran on BBC from 2013 to 2022.
Mr Keoghan was spotted on the Yorkshire set of the new major motion picture alongside Pulp Fiction actor Tim Roth and series regular Sophie Rundle.
Following the paparazzi snaps, Netflix took to social media this afternoon to share an official photograph of Mr Keoghan in costume.
On Netflix’s X account, a post alongside the picture said: “Your first look at Barry Keoghan in the upcoming Peaky Blinders film!”

Netflix previously confirmed that shooting for the film had started in a well-viewed post shared on Instagram.
The streaming service shared a photograph of Cillian Murphy with Steven Knight and said: “By order of the Peaky Blinders… Tommy Shelby is back.
“Cillian Murphy and Steven Knight are reunited on set as production officially starts on the upcoming Netflix film.”
