The broadcaster stepped down after suffering from burnout and chest pains
Carol Vorderman’s replacement on LBC has been confirmed. The former Countdown presenter had hosted a Sunday show on the radio station since Janauary.
However, the 63-year-old issued a candid update last month and said she will be stepping down after suffering “burnout” from seven-day working weeks. Carol shared the update on Instagram.
She told followers how she had a “tight feeling in my chest and I was utterly exhausted”, but “after many scans and checks, we know that I don’t have any underlying health issues whatsoever”.
LBC has confirmed Vanessa Feltz will replace Carol on the Sunday show. The 62-year-old already hosts a Saturday show on LBC and is excited to get started on Sundays.

She said: “I can’t wait to be a weekend appointment to listen to. I’m looking forward to holding Britain’s biggest and most spirited conversation with my lovely LBC listeners every Saturday and Sunday afternoon.”
Tom Cheal, LBC’s senior managing editor, said: “Vanessa has quickly made her mark on the LBC schedule since she joined the station in May.
“She is a genuine, straight-talking and incisive broadcaster who has proved incredibly popular with LBC listeners and knows what really matters to them, so we are excited to announce her new Sunday show.”
Vorderman joined LBC to front her new Sunday programme from 4pm to 7pm at the start of the year. The appointment came two months after the TV presenter left her BBC radio show saying she was “not prepared to lose my voice” after the corporation introduced new social media guidelines.
Vorderman was vocal in her criticism of the previous government on social media and has had several arguments on X, formerly Twitter, with Tory MPs.
She said management decided that she should give up her Saturday morning show on BBC Radio Wales over a breach of the guidelines. Feltz hosts Saturdays and Sundays, 3pm to 6pm, on LBC and Global Player. C
Carol issued a lengthy statement last month to confirm she would be stepping down from LBC after suffering a health scare. She said: “After working 7-day weeks for as long as I can remember, I finally burned out just over 2 weeks ago and I ended up overnight in hospital.
“Luckily, after many scans and checks, we know that I don’t have any underlying health issues whatsoever. So, after a proper talking to from my family and my buddies, I’ve taken the health scare as a warning sign to slow down slightly and have decided to cut my work back to weekdays for now.
“It pains me to have to do it, but I’ve decided not to carry on with my Sunday show on @LBC. I’m fed up that I’ve had to make the decision, as the show’s been really lively and a total joy, with so many new callers from around the country and growing numbers of listeners.
“The good news is that I’ll still be part of the LBC family (they’re a good family) from time to time – so stand by for more details. Meanwhile, I’ll continue to cause trouble and carry on tuning into LBC too.“Thank you once again for your extraordinary support and to all my new friends at LBC – you’ve been amazing. I’ll be continuing to make a lot of mischief and call out corruption and wrongdoing – that isn’t stopping but for now an ever so slightly less frenetic chapter begins. Love ya.”
