Armie Hammer will return to filmmaking with the indie period western drama “Frontier Crucible” – his first acting job in more than three years following 2021’s numerous sexual misconduct allegations.

Shooting gets underway next month in Monument Valley and Prescott, Arizona with Thomas Jane set to co-star. Dallas Sonnier produces the project.

The story centers on an ex-soldier reluctantly teaming up with a trio of outlaws, a woman and her injured spouse as they navigate the perilous Arizona frontier in the 1870s.

Together, they battle the harsh elements and hostile forces in a desperate bid for survival. Myles Clohessy, Zane Holtz, Mary Stickley, Jonah Kagen, Eli Brown and Eddie Spears co-star. Hammer and Jane will play two of the outlaws.

Hammer teased his return on his Instagram page with a shot of himself and the script on set.

Hammer broke through playing the Winklevoss twins in David Fincher’s “The Social Network” in 2010 before a steady career with films like “J. Edgar,” “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” “The Lone Ranger,” “Nocturnal Animals,” “Free Fire,” “Cars 3,” “Sorry to Bother You,” “On the Basis of Sex,” and the acclaimed “Call Me by Your Name”.

In 2021 multiple women came forward with claims of abuse against him. Hammer denied the allegations but had to abandon several projects and was dropped by his agency and publicist. The accusations were investigated by the LAPD, but no charges were filed.

The news comes after the actor launched a podcast on Monday titled The Armie HammerTime Podcast. The first episode includes an interview with actor Tom Arnold.
