Following the untimely death of Liam Payne, new music created by the star was posthumously set grace the world, thanks to the efforts of collaborator Sam Pounds.
The hauntingly relevant track titled Do No Wrong was produced with North Carolina singer Pounds before the One Direction star tragically died at the age of 31 on October 16 after a fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Do No Wrong, was set to be released on Friday posthumously, but the singer’s producer, Sam Pound, has decided to pull the song altogether.
Taking to social media the North Carolina based producer spoke out about his decision to not release the single out of respect for Liam’s family, adding “it’s not the right time”.
Pound wrote: “Today I’m deciding to hold ‘Do No Wrong’ and leave those liberties up to all family members. I want all proceeds go to a charity of their choosing (or however they desire). Even though we all love the song it’s not the time yet.”
He added: “We are all still mourning the passing of Liam and I want the family to mourn in peace and in prayer. We will all wait. With love Sam Pounds.”

It comes after Pounds took to Instagram and shared unseen footage of Liam singing their song before his tragic death.
The music producer shared a video alongside the One Direction star as they sat together at a keyboard as the song plays, with Liam singing along.
Sam then looks into the camera and extends an invitation to Chris Brown to join them on the track, saying: “Chris we need you.” “It’s there Chris, it is there,” said Liam. “It is ready to go.”
However, Pounds comment section was met with backlash as fans questioned his decision to release the music soon after Liam’s death.
One wrote: “Does the family support you bringing that out now? I feel like it was too soon.” Another commented: “I think the same. It was too soon.”
A third wrote: “It’s really sad. His family is currently focused on something else. but not in getting music out of him now.”

Following Pound’s announcement, fans flocked to comment on the decision to pull the unreleased song.
One fan shared, “Thank you for listening to our concerns and deciding against the release. Of course, we all want to hear it, but in the most respectful way possible to him and his family.”
Another commented: “God bless you. Thank you so much for doing this, appreciate you.”
A third wrote: “Thank you so much for addressing it. If Liam’s family ever want to do no wrong to be out, it’ll be out. If not, it’ll stay with them forever and we’ll support it.”

One poignant verse in the song sees Liam croon: “Nothing come between us but just space and time. As I fall, fall further for you, I can make a lifetime out of just one night. Like there’s nothing just us two”.
Taking to social media last week to announce the release, producer Pounds conveyed his wishes for the track to transcend sadness, telling his Twitter followers: “I pray that this will be a blessing to the world like Liam has always dreamed.”
“I pray angels will comfort you all every day while listening. I pray that this song will be a blessing to (sister) Ruth, (son) Bear, and the entire family. I pray that this song eclipses the negative echoes. I pray supernatural positive healing power will embrace each and every one of you.”

Liam Payne, who shared his only child with Girls Aloud star Cheryl during their relationship from 2016 to 2018, rose to fame on The X Factor alongside his One Direction bandmates.
Last week, all five of the band’s studio albums re-entered the UK top 40 as fans worldwide continue to hold vigils in memory of Payne.
His final solo track, Teardrops, debuted at number 85 on the UK charts earlier this year.
Tributes have been flooding in for Payne, with his One Direction colleagues Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson expressing their grief shortly after his passing.
At the peak of his fame, Liam battled alcoholism, revealing to Steven Bartlett, host of The Diary Of A CEO podcast in 2021, that he hit “rock bottom” before seeking help in rehab. In 2023, he shared a video about his time in a Louisiana rehab facility, stating he had “got more of a grip on life”.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office in Argentina is still investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. It is currently classified as “an inconclusive death”, with an initial post-mortem examination indicating he died instantly due to multiple traumas and “internal and external haemorrhage”.
Emergency services were called to the Casa Sur Hotel on the day Payne fell, responding to a “guest who was under the influence of drugs and alcohol and who had destroyed some objects in the room”.
